Race is On!

This thought collided with me in between the mind boggling rat race towards the elusive CGPA excellence environment. This is part of "what if" analysis. What if someone who is reluctantly dragging along with the system, is paid an amount which will take care of all the financial requirements of his lifetime, then what will be his idea of work, career etc. What will be his approach towards his work? Will he be less hard working? Will he get exhausted and complain about a hard day of work? Will it be the same goal what he is pursuing now? I afraid the answer to most of these questions would be No! I believe half (or even more) people will change their course of career and go towards what they like most. The real passion will be discovered only then. Even if, some will feel now that lying around would be what they will do most in this case, I believe to the contrary. That will also be a hell lot of difficult thing to do after sometime. Well, I have a list of thing to do, if I get this imaginative financial freedom, where I can really excel. Till that time, I will remain a "risk averse" person running with all the madness towards becoming better than the best around. The only point is whether I will be satisfied and happy for the achievement (even if I reach there)? Probably Not! Or May be! Let me figure out the meaning of this fleeting thought until then... "Race is on"

  1. Interesting thought !!! Actually, it is this "race" which decides our utility for the society...and believe me, it is neither knowledge nor truthfulness which makes u more useful for the society...it is our ability to take responsibility for things which are beyond everyone's control...in short the most patient scapegoat gets the highest booty !!!

  2. Well said saket..! But don't you think one will excel more if he does what he likes most or where his real interest lies. I think that will help the society grow even faster.

  3. Lets say its just a journey to whereever u want to go....U may want to be in switzerland...but will have to bear with a lot of hostilities on the way....I beleive a lot also depends on your 'choices'...As Jawaharlal Nehru puts it perfectly, "Life is like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt with is destiny. How you play it is free will".

  4. Nice Post..! 'what if' scenarios are certainly very refreshing. Have you given thought to the fact that your choices and abilities so far have led you to your current state of affairs. You and only you are responsible for your job or current educational requirements. Would that do anything to change your prespective towards how you are leading your life now ? Don't you think that this elusive ideal vocation would be just as likely to be the very same one that you are doing right now.

  5. Lokesh Bhai... your thoughts are, but natural. It is ok to get these feelings. It comes to everyone @ some point in time.
One thing that we need to remember & be very cautious about is never to get into a RAT RACE coz, even if u win, u will still be a RAT!!!

RACE is always with your own self! Think that U are the BOLT on the race track. U set ur own benchmarks & U improve urself in everyway possible to break ur own records.
